BETTER TOGETHER YOUTH CHOIR

Better Together Youth Choir

The Better Together Youth Choir, for children and youth aged 8 to 16, aims to have fun while learning music and movement basics and is inclusive of all ability levels. The group also strives to integrate children of all abilities and build leadership, acceptance, confidence, and promote expression.

The choir began in January of 2014 and is based on the model of Kids of Note, directed by Brenda Baker in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Under the direction of Susan Farrell, Better Together Youth meets on Saturdays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church (11526-76 Ave). BTY also has volunteer helpers drawn from Better Together, Òran and Shumayela (of the Korora Choir Association).

For my disabled daughter, music is therapy. The weekly exposure to beautiful choral music and the inherent sense of inclusion and community that [the Better Together Youth Choir] offers, for her, has been magical. The sincere and heartfelt gratitude our family feels for the amazing people who make this group possible is hard to put into words!
